Customisation
You are able to customize many of the components of this tool, including:
- The name of the emote(s) to watch for in your chat
- The maximum number of small/large clap sounds that can play
- The minimum number of users and/or emotes that need to be sent in chat before the large clap sounds play, as well as how much time can pass before a chat message is no longer counted.
Important changes
Many of these configuration items will work well as they are, however there are some settings that you must change before this will work for you. To change these settings:
- Expand Actions & Queues in the sidebar on the left, and click Actions
- Expand the [Package] Applause action category, if it is not already open.
- Click the [Applause] Chat message watcher action
- In Sub-Actions on the right hand side, expand the Set Properties folder.
- Double click one of the configuration items (starts with Set argument %...), update the Value text, and click OK to save.
This SubAction will allow you to set the value of an argument. These are the %variables% you use in other SubActions
Set the name of your emote(s)
In order to properly monitor the chat, it will need to know what emotes to count as clapping. The name of these emotes can be found in the Emotes area of your streamer dashboard (if using your own emotes), or are the name of the emote that you would type into chat. More information on emotes can be found on the official Twitch Help page.
Example
TSAClappa,patchd6Clap,koyuurClap
Once you have the name of the emote(s), update the value of the %emote% variable with the emotes.
If you have more than one emote you want to watch for, you can add multiple names, separated by commas!
Update the sound effects location
In order for Streamer.bot to play the clapping sound effects, you will need to update some of the settings to match your specific setup.
%smallClap% should be set to the directory on your computer that contains the sound effects for small applause.
%bigClap% should be set to the directory on your computer that contains sound effects for large applause.
Sound effects are included with the Applause Bot package. If you would like to use these, refer to Step 3 of the Installation guide, taking note of the location that your package was extracted to.
